  • To review the pharmacology of existing and emerging anticoagulant agents used for prevention of VTE.
  • To explore how emerging oral factor Xa and IIa inhibitors may impact the prevention of VTE in orthopedic surgery.
  • To compare and contrast the guidelines for the prevention of VTE for orthopedic surgery patients.
