Novant Health PrimeCare offices throughout the Triad area will be offering H1N1 vaccine to residents Sunday, January 17.

What:             Novant Health PrimeCare offices throughout the Triad area will be offering H1N1 vaccine to residents Sunday, January 17.  It is estimated that less than 30 percent of the U.S. population has received H1N1 vaccine.  Both CDC and World Health Organization officials are predicting that there likely may be a third wave of the H1N1 Virus in the coming weeks.

When:            Sunday, January 17 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.                       

Where:          PrimeCare locations in Greensboro, Kernersville and Winston-Salem                     

                      Greensboro:PrimeCare Hickory Branch 501 Hickory Branch Rd.

                        Kernersville: PrimeCare Kernersville 111 Gateway Center Drive

                        Winston-Salem: PrimeCare: Highland Oaks 600 Highland Oaks Drive and PrimeCare North Point                         7811 North Point Blvd.

How:              No appointment is necessary. 

Why:              “We want to do everything possible to prevent the spread of the H1N1 virus and encourage everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible,” said Jim Guerrini M.D., medical director of PrimeCare.  “Receiving the vaccine is the most effective way to do that, but it takes eight to10 days following the vaccination for the vaccine to provide full immunity.”
